THE HONEST POET NO GOOD [FEAT. ROWEN BRITTANY]
South Wales-based singer-songwriter The Honest Poet has returned with a fantastic collaboration with poet Rowen Brittany in the form of ‘No Good’. It’s an atmospheric track that focuses on gaslighting and disloyalty over a simple, heavenly-textured track that takes influence from both modern R&B and ambient music. He describes this cut as “a breakup song that talks about heartache. This song is the most atmospheric song (on the EP) which features a spoken word poet called Rowen Brittany. I chose her because of her raw approach to her writing style and delivery.” The Honest Poet’s delivery is similarly laudable, with his powerful voice almost distorting when at its most powerful. ‘No Good’ is taken from The Honest Poet’s new EP, Love Complexity, which is out now and explores the ugly side of love. -Dan Peeke
